Got a costume idea you’ve been dreaming of bringing to life but need guidance along the way? Whether you’re creating for cosplay, theatre, conventions, historical costuming, themed events, or simply love making dramatic statement pieces, these flexible sewing sessions are designed to help you move your project forward with expert support.

Choose Your Own Adventure: Costume Making Evenings are individual workshop sessions where you can register for one class or join multiple evenings, depending on the level of support you need for your project. Bring your own costume project and work alongside fellow costume makers in a collaborative, creative environment while receiving personalized guidance from an experienced costumer.

 Led by Alice Hawes and her extensive costume-making experience and a passion for helping others bring creative ideas to life, these sessions are perfect for sewists looking for technical support, troubleshooting help, or advice on more complex garment construction.

Skill requirements:

Have sewn several garment projects from a pattern. Know how to use a pattern, and cut out pieces. Know how to thread and use a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, construct simple seams, and be familiar with sewing terminology such as straight of grain and seam allowance.

Must be aged 16+
