With over 25 years of professionally trained sewing experience and more than 15 years of teaching experience, Tanya can help you build your skills, troubleshoot projects, and take your sewing to the next level.

Who Are Semi-Private Lessons Best For?

Semi-private lessons are ideal for:

• Two people who want to learn together
• Sewing partners who enjoy working on projects side-by-side
• Students with some sewing experience who would like personalized guidance
• Individuals looking for a more cost-effective way to share lesson time

Each session has two available spots, and each spot must be booked separately.
Tanya welcomes students ages 8 and up and teaches all skill levels, from beginner through advanced.

New to Sewing?

If you are completely new to sewing or need a sewing machine orientation, we recommend booking a Private Sewing Lesson instead.
Private lessons provide dedicated one-on-one instruction, allowing you to learn the basics of your machine, understand sewing fundamentals, and build a strong foundation at your own pace.

Semi-private lessons are designed for shared instruction, and we want to ensure every student receives the time, attention, and support needed to be successful.

Semi-Private Lesson Options & Booking Information

Semi-private lessons are available in person at The Green Thimble.
Our posted schedule includes one-hour lesson sessions. If you have a special request, please contact us directly at classes@thegreenthimble.ca.
Please email us if you would like to arrange:

• A lesson time that is not currently listed (Tanya may be able to accommodate additional times)
• A two-hour lesson instead of the standard one-hour booking
• A specific project or skill focus that you would like to discuss before booking

Weekend Availability

We encourage students to book weekday lesson times whenever possible. Tanya's weekend availability is limited to one Sunday per month, and these spots are reserved for students who are unable to attend during the week.

• Intermediate to advanced sewing techniques
• Serger, overlock, and cover stitch machine instruction
• Pattern adjustments and fitting
• Alterations and tailoring

• Basic lingerie sewing, including underwear and non-wired bras

Projects Tanya Is Not Able to Assist With

Please note that Tanya is not able to provide instruction for:

• Wired bras and advanced lingerie construction
• Upholstery projects

Instructor Bio:	Tanya is formally trained in fashion design and technology with extensive and professionally trained sewing experience of over 25 years & over 15 years of teaching experience, Her background includes custom design, alterations, styling, custom fitting, teaching and more. For the last 8 years she has focused on teaching and building a strong local sewing community with other sewists and enthusiasts.
