Control Panel - Get Your Panels Under Control

Quilting panels are fun, bold, and full of possibility—but they can also be a little intimidating. In Control Panel – Get Your Panels Under Control, you’ll learn how to confidently work with quilting panels and turn them into a polished project of your choice.

This two-week class is all about learning how to design with panels rather than around them. Students will explore a wide variety of panels provided in class and may choose as many as they like to work with.

In the first class you will spend time prepping and designing your panel project with Bizz, your instructor. In between the first and second class, you will sent home with homework to finish prep and do some sewing and then in the second class you will come for finishing your quilt top.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Format: 2-Week Class (with two weeks in between)

What You’ll Learn

  • How to properly square off quilting panels

  • Designing a project that highlights your panel

  • Adding borders to enhance (not overwhelm) the design

  • Choosing a quilting design that complements your panel (note: we will not get to quilting in-class, but we will discuss it)

  • Explore multiple design options to utilize panels effectively
