Turn your denim dreams into reality! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the art of crafting your very own pair of jeans from start to finish. This intermediate to advanced level class is designed for sewists who want to master jeans construction—covering everything from fitting the pattern to finishing techniques that give denim its signature look.

Requirements: Students must bring their own jean sewing pattern (please contact us ahead of time to confirm the pattern’s suitability). Prior sewing experience and comfort with garment construction are required. (This class is not suitable for beginner to advanced beginners)
What You’ll Learn

How to read, adjust, and fit a jeans sewing pattern before cutting

Proper techniques for sewing heavy denim fabric

Specialized methods unique to jeans construction (topstitching, flat-felled seams, rivets, etc.)

Finishing details that make handmade jeans look professional

Some recirculated fabric (including denim when available – please check availability with us prior to class)

Sewing notions on hand for practice and demonstration

Your chosen jeans pattern (please confirm with us before the first class)

Your own denim fabric and any required notions for your project according to you pattern

Pattern and fabric ready to go for the first class
- Rivet, zipper and button kit (Closet Core sells a nice set)
- Machine with a walking foot and or a hump jump
