Skill Level: Beginner 


Skills requirements: There is are no pre-requisites for this class. This class is about using your own artistic creativity to paint on silk. This technique is similar to water colour painting but on fabric. 


Must be aged 16+


Learning Outcomes:

• Understand the basic properties of silk and how it interacts with silk paint and resist.

• Apply and control Seta silk paints using traditional techniques for smooth blending and colour layering.

• Use gutta resist to create outlines, patterns, and designs that hold colour in place.

• Design and complete a painted silk scarf, using colour theory and composition techniques suited to fabric art.

• Care for and set silk painting properly to ensure lasting colour and finish.

• Identify and use all included materials (paints, brush, gutta, and silk) confidently to continue projects independently.

• Gain inspiration and ideas for future silk painting projects at home using the included supplies and takeaway instructions.
