Make a Charlie Bomber Jacket



In this hands-on class, you'll sew the stylish and versatile Charlie Bomber Jacket by Jalie Patterns — a modern take on a classic silhouette. What makes this project special is its combination of knit and woven fabrics, creating a jacket that’s both comfortable and structured.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Skill requirements:

Have sewn a few garments projects on your own, know how to read a pattern and understand size chart PLUS basic sewing experience (knowing how to thread and use a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, construct simple seams, and be familiar with sewing terminology such as "right sides of fabric together" and "seam allowance"). 

Must be aged 16+

  • The importance of stabilization for structure and fit

  • Techniques to achieve clean, professional finishes

  • Learn how to do a unique welt pocket specific to this pattern 
  • Tips to gain confidence when mixing fabric types

Whether you're looking to stretch your sewing skills or add a trendy staple to your wardrobe, this class will show you that working with different fabrics can be both manageable and rewarding.


What’s Included:

  • Recirculated fabric from our collection - please check with us prior to the class to see if we have what you are looking for. (You will want to come to the class prepared) 
  • Jalie Charlie Bomber Jacket pattern is included in the class price. 


What to Bring:

  • Your own sewing machine and serger (If you have a serger) 

  • Pre-selected fabric (woven, knit and rib knit) 

  • Thread
  • Zipper - this is usually decided after class 2 or 3  as we wont know till the jacket is put together to know length


Recommended Fabrics (but not limited to):

  • Double knit, ponte or other stable knits

  • Quilting cotton, canvas, cotton sateen, linen/cotton, linen

  • Rib knit for neckband, cuffs, and waistband
