Spa-Style Robe
In this hands-on, two-session workshop, students will sew a cozy spa-style robe from soft white waffle woven fabric. Perfect for lounging or gifting, this robe features a relaxed fit, belt closure, and optional patch pockets. Students will learn to work with woven waffle, follow a garment pattern, and finish seams cleanly.
Great class for those who have sewn garments, but want to learn how to see with a waffle weave fabric. You will learn how to do so with a simple garment pattern.
Skill Level: Advanced beginner - Intermediate
Skill requirements:
Have sewn a few garments projects on your own, know how to read a pattern and understand size chart PLUS basic sewing experience (knowing how to thread and use a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, construct simple seams, and be familiar with sewing terminology such as "right sides of fabric together" and "seam allowance").
Must be aged 16+
Learning outcomes:
- Understand robe construction using a waffle weave fabric
- Learn techniques for working with textured fabrics
- Assemble a full spa-style robe with clean finishes
- Gain confidence in using a pattern
What we provide:
- White waffle weave in cotton (pre-measured per student size)
- Spa robe sewing pattern by Bernina (will be sent to you to print and put together at home prior to the first class)
- Embroidery design download by Bernina (to do at home, if you have an embroidery machine)
- Thread (if you have white thread at home, you are more than welcome to bring with you)
- Regular machine and serger (may need to share serger)
* You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine and serger to class.
