Intermediate Garment Making
Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill requirements:
Have sewn a few garments projects on your own, know how to read a pattern and understand size chart PLUS basic sewing experience (knowing how to thread and use a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, construct simple seams, and be familiar with sewing terminology such as "right sides of fabric together" and "seam allowance").
Must be aged 16+
You will learn:
- More advanced finishing skills
- Proper body measurements for your specific pattern
- How to hone into proper construction techniques
- Learn the fit as you go method, plus how to translate that information back to your pattern
- Choose 3 new skills you haven't learn yet with the pattern of your choice
We supply:
- Recirculated Pattern (Woven)
- Recirculated Fabric (Woven, such as quilting cotton, lawn cloth, linen etc.)
- Machine if you are not bringing your own
You bring:
- Thread
- Any other notions noted on your pattern (e.g. elastic, buttons, etc.)
***Please buy/pick out your fabric and supplies in advance. We strongly recommend you wash and dry your fabric in the same way that you will wash and dry your garment to pre-shrink your fabric. ***

| Instructor Bio: | Tanya is formally trained in fashion design and technology with extensive and professionally trained sewing experience of over 25 years & over 15 years of teaching experience, Her background includes custom design, alterations, styling, custom fitting, teaching and more. For the last 8 years she has focused on teaching and building a strong local sewing community with other sewists and enthusiasts. |
