Teens Sewing Summer Camp (Ages 13-18)

Does your teen want to start sewing their own clothes but isn’t sure where to begin? This camp is the perfect place to start!

Designed for passionate young creators, this program focuses on the fundamentals of garment construction. Students will learn key skills involved in making clothing—from understanding patterns and fabric selection to building and finishing wearable pieces.

Who It’s For:

• Ages 13–18

• Teens ready to grow their sewing skills

• Previous machine sewing experience is required

This camp is ideal for teens who are already hooked on sewing and are excited to take their skills, creativity, and ideas to the next level—while learning how to make clothing they can actually wear.

This five day camp will cover the following elements:

• Clothing design & process
• Working drawings for design
• Choosing the best fabrics for your design
• How to read a pattern
• Measurements, pinning & cutting fabric
• Garment construction
• Finishing techniques (including hemming, zippers, button holes and working with elastics)

Summer Camp Scheduling Options

Our summer camps offer flexible scheduling to suit your needs. You may register your child for:

• Morning session only

• Afternoon session only

• Full-day camp (morning + afternoon)

Each session runs for 3 hours. If your child is enrolled in both the morning and afternoon sessions, this is a full 6-hour day, with a 30-minute break between sessions.

To register for a full-day camp, please select both the morning and afternoon time slots when choosing your dates. All available options are clearly listed in the date and time selection section during the booking process.

Skill requirements:

Teens Sewing Camp is geared towards ages 13-18 with SEWING MACHINE EXPERIENCE . This includes being able to thread the sewing machine, sew straight lines & curves, back stitch and have completed several sewing projects either at home or in lessons.

No previous experience sewing clothing is required, this is your chance to get started!

Material requirements:

Fabric is included in the cost of the camp. We will have an array fabric to choose from for chosen clothing project/s. The use of our sewing pattern library is also included. If your teen has their own fabric and pattern they want to use, they are welcome to bring that in as well. 


Equipment requirements:

We highly encourage your child to bring their own sewing machine. However if they don't own a machine, one will be provided for them. If they bring in their machine from home, please ensure they bring the manual (and foot pedal/power cord!).

Group size: Maximum 5

Snacks & Refreshments:

We encourage you to send snacks and refreshments as it’s much easier to be creative when our brains have fuel!
