Wool Felt Whales

Join us for a this 2 session class to create a charming whale!  You will learn the fundamentals of how to work with beautiful wool fabric or recirculated fabric. You will learn how to properly prepare and sew you wonderful whale.

Skills requirements:

This is a Advanced Beginner - Intermediate class. You will need to know how to confidently operate and thread your own machine. Have sewn a handful of projects on your own. This class entails sewing curves, so you will need to feel comfortable taking that challenge on. 

For students age 16+

Materials:

**Safety eyes and use of studio thread is included in the cost of this class, regardless of what material choice you choose.

OPTION 1: 

Create your whale using Oekotex Certified, 100% wool and recycled poly stuffing. *This kit will be available to purchase for $48 from the teacher. 

Choose between an Orca or a Humpback, in several different colours, or mix and match to create your own colour way. Orca is 21" approx. and the Humpback is 24" approx.

Color Options:

Orca: 

• Black and White

• Dark Heathered Grey and White

Humpback: 

• Dark Heathered Grey and Light Heathered Grey                    

• Earth Brown and Dark Heathered Grey

OPTION 2: (This option is included into the cost of the class) 

• Recirculated fabric (We recommend stable fabrics, such as canvas or quilting cotton. Slippery or stretch fabrics are NOT recommended) 
  

• Fabrics scraps for stuffing

**PLEASE NOTE THE ORCA PATTERN IS SMALLER THAN THE SAMPLE SIZE SHOWN ABOVE. IF YOU WISH TO ENLARGE THE PATTERN, THE TEACHER WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO DO SO IN CLASS.
