Heart Pin Cushion
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and to celebrate we thought it would be fun to create a simple pincushion out of a patchwork heart quilt block.
Supplies:
- Machine in good working order with fresh needle
- Scraps of fabric in pink or red for heart, at least 5" square
- Scraps of fabric for background, a 10x10" square will be plenty, at least 2.5" wide.
- Scrap of fabric for backing, at least 5" square
- Matching or neutral thread for piecing
- Matching or accent colour thread for quilting
- Stuffing of your choice
- A scrap of Quilt batting at least 5″ x 5″
- Hand Sewing Needle
- 1/4″ Foot for Sewing Machine (BERNINA foot #37, #57, or #97)
- Small mat, ruler and rotary cutter, though some will be available for use.
- Basic Sewing Supplies

Skill Details:
Must be comfortable with threading and general use of sewing machine, have basic understanding of concepts such as 1/4" seam allowance, right sides together, turning.
