Heirloom Ornaments

Make your own Christmas ornaments with this classic and joyful pattern from Cool Cat Creations! The pattern is easy to follow with many detailed and colourful illustrations. The ornaments are fast and easy to make - you can make enough for your Christmas tree in no time!

The pattern provides options for 5 different sizes and a bonus teardrop shape. They can be made in two ways, either in a classic chevron style or with your own unexpected fabric design! They can be made with strips from a Bali Pop or Jelly Roll. Alternatively, you can use up your left over strips of fabrics to make the chevron style ornament.

They can also be made with something special like a wedding gown, christening gown, or something from a loved one. This is such a great keepsake that can be passed on an on through your family's generations. Why not add embroidered initials and create an ornament for each member of your family? The possibilities are endless!

During high school in Holland Jeanine got her first sewing machine, a hand-cranked Singer once owned by her great-grandmother. She was always doing some kind of fibre art. This led her to NSCAD where she combined printmaking with fabric and made quilts from the prints. As a high art school teacher in New Brunswick, she instilled the love of creativity in many of her students. When she retired to Victoria, she took sewing classes at the Makehouse to upgrade her sewing skills. Not long ago she fell in love with a Bernina 335, which is now her steadfast companion in many fibre adventures.
