Stitch Meditation

*Please note all classes after March 1st will be held at 2950 Douglas St #400, Victoria, BC.

Join us for a calming, creative exploration of mindfulness through simple hand-stitching techniques. In a relaxed environment, focus on the rhythmic process of stitching, allowing thoughts to flow freely while creating small, textile art pieces. This practice promotes relaxation, self-expression, and mental clarity.

This class is an opportunity to be with other creatives in a quiet space where you can play with layering fabric scraps, piecing, stitching, relaxing, and enjoying the process vrs the finished product.

All supplies are included, we will use recycled fabrics, making this a truly sustainable sewing activity. You're welcome to bring your own supplies as well.

It's a deeply relaxing art practice.

Gentle Guidelines for Our Time Together:

  1. Arrive in Peace:

    • The doors will close softly 15 minutes after we begin, creating a space of uninterrupted focus. Please arrive within this time.
  2. Trust Your Journey:

    • Every stitch you make is a part of your unique process. There’s no need to undo—each stitch is just as it should be.
  3. Hands and Heart Only:

    • We’ll be stitching by hand, allowing our creativity to flow naturally, without the hum of machines.
  4. Embrace the Silence:

    • As we move into meditation, please ensure your phone is on silent, and let’s enjoy the quiet together.

Please note, there is no specific instruction in this class. If you would like to learn about intuitive stitch in more depth, please check out one of our Slow Stitch classes with Megan. No previous experience necessary. We can go over basic running stitch before meditation starts.

**You will be given access to a base fabric, fabric scraps, hand-sewing thread, embellishments such as buttons or lace, thread conditioner, thread snips, and needles. You are welcome to bring your own supplies, if desired. Please come early if you would like to shop for supplies.**

There will be 15 minutes for settling in, picking fabrics, and asking questions. After that, the doors will be locked so we are not interrupted. At that time, there will be 45 minutes of uninterrupted stitching to relaxing music.
