Decorative Quilt Binding
You already know how to attach a binding. How can we jazz it up a bit?

- Flange Binding
- Big Stitch Binding
- Cutting and joining 2.5" strips at 45 degree angle
- Attaching binding to your quilt top
- Joining beginning and end of binding together
- We will not be going over joining ends in this class. Please attend our Quilt Binding 101 for these lessons.
Things you need for this class:
- Machine in good working order with fresh needle
- 1/4" piecing foot**
- Open toe applique foot**
- Long ruler, at least 12x18", up to 6.5x24"
- Rotary cutter
- Small mat, if you have one (there are some available)
- Small pressing mat and mini iron, if you have one (there will be irons, but having one at your station reduces the need to be up and down constantly)
- Hand sewing needle for heavy thread - think embroidery floss
- Neutral thread
- Wonder clips, if you have them
- OR pins, or snap hair clips, if you don't have wonder clips
- Fabric and batting:
- Please use up your batting and fabric scraps to make 2 quilt sandwiches approximately 5x20".
- Bring 40"(WoF) pre-cut 2.5" strip, or equal length of joined pieces
- In contrasting colours:
- 1 colour - 2@ 40"(WoF) strip cut to 1 5/8", thread to match this colour
- 1 colour - 2@ 40"(WoF) strip cut to 1 3/8"
