Things you will need for class:
- A sewing machine in good working order, with a fresh needle (If you don't have a machine you can bring to class, one can be provided for you, but there will be homework)
- Rotary cutter, small mat, and rulers
- Rag Snips
- Fabric and batting: Walking foot is highly recommended
- Flannel fabric will be available for use, but it will be scrappy! If you would like coordinating colours or a pattern built into your quilt, I recommend bringing your own fabric totalling approximately 4 meters for a lap-size quilt (aka 6x flannel charm pack, or 16 flannel fat quarters, or 8 half meters, etc.) Remember that this does both the front and the back of the quilt. Feel free to adjust the amount of fabric to the size of quilt you would like to make. We can help you do the math!
- 0.7m (30" of 90" wide batting, or equivalent. This is a perfect project for batting scraps! We do not have enough scraps to supply batting for everyone, but we do have batting on the roll for sale by the meter
- Coordinating thread (Or not coordinating! But you will be top-stitching with it, so you'll see it)
- Standard sewing notions:
- Pins and/or clips
- Scissors
- Seam ripper
- Anything else you can't imagine sewing without!
