Introduction to Intuitive Stitch

Intuitive stitch, also known as slow stitch or contemplative stitch, is the practice of hand stitching with no specific end goal in mind. Part embroidery, part abstract collage, intuitive stitch involves combining colours, layers and textures with the meditative rhythm of simple hand stitching as a nourishing ritual to ground, inspire and play.
In this class, participants will work with reclaimed fabrics, threads and adornments to explore the process of intuitive stitch, as well as learn more about the process itself and its benefits, and how it can be incorporated more widely into a variety of projects. Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring and/or share any materials you may wish to incorporate.
